How much could a school scholarship save?
It depends on the eligible tuition, award percentage and duration. Using published 2026 Year 7 tuition at Barker, Abbotsleigh and Pymble as examples, 50% tuition remission is approximately A$20,800 to A$22,355 for one year, while 100% is approximately A$41,600 to A$44,710. Other fees may remain and future tuition can change.
Does a 50% scholarship mean half the entire school bill?
Usually not. Many school awards reduce eligible academic tuition only. Application and entry fees, levies, devices, uniforms, activities, travel and boarding can remain payable unless the written terms explicitly include them.
What is the difference between a scholarship and a bursary?
A scholarship is often awarded for merit or demonstrated potential, while a bursary is commonly means-tested. Providers use these terms differently, so families should check the published eligibility, evidence and coverage for each award.
What scholarship-test score is required?
There is no universal Australian scholarship cut-off. Each school decides how it uses test results, school reports, interviews, portfolios, auditions and other evidence, and many schools do not publish a winning score.
Can a scholarship be reviewed or withdrawn?
Yes, depending on the provider’s terms. Awards may be reviewed annually and can require academic progress, conduct, participation, performance or continued eligibility. Read the offer and renewal conditions carefully.
Can you tell us which scholarships the student will win?
No. The consultation helps compare fit and preparation requirements, but scholarship decisions are made by the relevant provider.
Do we need a finished application first?
No. The session can be useful before drafting, when the key need is choosing opportunities and organising evidence.
What is included in the A$400 strategy consultation?
The fee covers one 90-minute personalised scholarship strategy consultation and a written roadmap prepared after the session. Small-group classes, reviews and tutoring are separate services with their own confirmed scope and fee.
